Summer Already?!

Soo…It’s actually been more than a month since anyone has posted on Zenime. To those dedicated readers - congratulations, you have the perseverance of a tiger, but there is no real prize for you. Sorry. Anyway, school has finally ended for me and I’m in full gear towards summer. I’d like to say that I’ll be posting more often for Zenime, but obviously, that really isn’t a reliable promise. Instead, here’s my rankings for the spring season. Really late for my usual mid-season reports, but since some shows are almost over, I thought “better late than never.” Read More..

Minami Kuribayashi - Love Jump

I told you this single was coming out soon ha ha. I personally love the mix between the A-side and B-side tracks. A very upbeat and exciting A-side song gets you moving and happy, while a wonderful ballad B-side just makes you smile. Definitely a single to look into.

Maaya Sakamoto - Triangler

Maaya Sakamoto and Yoko Kanno have joined together for this single (at least the A-side track) and i have to say i really love their re-collaboration for this. The opening song for the newest Macross series, Macross Frontier, this is definitely a step away from Maaya’s normal style and is very upbeat and epic. Awesome song.

Ikimono Garaki - Kaeritakunatta yo

My first taste of this group was initially through Bleach and at first i found their song “HANABI” a little annoying on prolonged listens, but this group has surprised me since then. This single is for the Nintendo Bleach DS game “Bleach the 3rd Phantom”. It’s a slow ballad song as the A-side and a faster B-side track. Well worth a listen!

Ayumi Hamasaki - Mirrorcle World

Ayumi just recently put out this single, actually a dual set of singles, to commemorate her 10 year anniversary in the music business. On her latest album, GUILTY, we heard a “preview” of this song called Mirror, which in itself was a fairly good introduction song. I have since traded out Mirror with Mirrorcle World. Now, it’s the full version along with, on one single, a new song, and on the other, a 10th anniversary version of the song, You. On both is a 10th anniversary version of her song Depend on You. This is a compilation of both singles put into one, yay the internet for it’s marvels, and i think it really shows the single well.

Petit Eva~ The game

Petit Eva

Due to extreme boredom over the weekend, instead of catching up on my Gundam and shigofumi posts I decided to play the Nintendo DS game “Petit Eva” which I found raw somewhere=D

I’m sure something with eva in the title… WITH CHIBIS couldn’t be that bad… right?…. RIGHT????

So we upgraded to Wordpress 2.5, and we have a new layout, but apparently the feed is pathetic. It doesn’t update our publishes to antenna.animeblogger or animenano. Which is weird. Anyone know of any solution to this mystery? +.+

YUI - I LOVED YESTERDAY

Okay, YUI has put out an album… and yet again i am breaking the rule of not touching her…. i’m sorry Zenical….

It’s a really good album, honestly, and is well worth a listen. Yui puts out some simply wonderful vocals with this album and really is a gem of one. I’ve found that even Yui’s album tracks live up to her single tracks. As usual, she pleases and even her single tracks sound better on this album. It’s defiantly an album you should buy!

Spring 2008 Preview: Our Choices

Once again, we’ve come to the start of a brand new season with lots of brand new shows to watch. This Spring especially has us occupied with something like 40+ new anime series this season. Take out the kiddy shows and OVAs and we still have a whooping 30+ anime titles released for Spring.

Winter’s line up of anime wasn’t bad, but wasn’t excellent as well. It was merely average. Spring however, features a lot (and I mean a lot) of promising Anime titles. Firstly there’s Code Geass, then there’s Vampire Knight to my personal ‘romance’ show for the season, Itazura na Kiss. With so many great great shows this season, it’ll be a real waste to not watch most (if not all) of them.

The anime titles I’ve listed below are those that I have considered watching myself and those that the zeNIME writers will be covering. This is by no means, a complete list of all the animes airing. Also, as a final disclaimer, the comments for each anime are mine and may not reflect what you or the other zeNIME writers think of the series. Alright, all’s said and done, let’s get this preview rolling.
